Welcome to the new look Iptegrity.com!

Iptegrity.com is the website of Dr Monica Horten.

The site began as an online cv with a blog, but the blog grew exponentially and consistently  serves 100,000- 120,000 page views per month.

Iptegrity offers breaking views on European policy concerning the Internet and copyright - hence the name - IP is Internet Protocol and IP is Intellectual Property. Integrity is, of course, a quality we would like to see in politics. Using an innovative, cross-disciplinary approach to communications policy,  Iptegrity provides insights into telecoms and  copyright policies and  related sub-issues such as net neutrality, IPR enforcement, and Internet blocking.  Iptegrity is read by lawyers, academics, policy-makers and citizens, and is cited in European media - see Media Quotes for examples.

My academic papers, as well as the papers which published here on Iptegrity.com, have been cited by scholars worldwide. See  Berkman Center for Internet & Society (2011) Rethinking Music (footnote 74) for example. I have presented a number of conferences on Net Neutrality and  Copyright - see My Presentations for examples. I am a journalist by training, and have written on telecoms, Internet and computing for many years. My  portfolio of published work includes The Daily Telegraph, The Financial Times, The Australian, and a large number of IT and telecoms trade publications.  See Published Work for examples. In   September 2010, I successfully defended my  PhD thesis - entitled The Political Battle for Online Content in the European Union  -  with no corrections, having  researched my PhD at  the University of Westminster .  I have a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Australian National University (ANU), a Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing and a Masters Degree with Distinction in Communications Policy from the University of Westminster.

Iptegrity.com  does not receive funding from any organisations and is entirely produced by me.

Iptegrity.com  has been  redeveloped  using Joomla 1.7 - which I have to say, is a  super-smooth content management system. I've been working with open-source CMS systems since 2004, and I can find little to fault it. The redevelopment was necessary because the old platform was insecure, and I apologise to any readers who have experienced any inconvenience as a result of the change. I've been able to bring across all of the content, except for the comments, so you should be able to find everything here just as it was before.
